BIRTH
ANNOUNCEMENT
PRAYER ALERT FROM LITTLE BEAR
January
22, 2002

Baby Goforth born January 21, 2002
16 weeks prematurely - weighing 1 lb. 4 oz.
Dear Friends and
Family,
Update:
Last night at about 9:00 PM MST, our grandson was born by emergency C-section,
weighing just one pound and four ounces. They have not yet decided on a name for
their precious little son.
Please continue
to pray for Noelle's quick recovery, and for the baby to be healthy and grow extraordinarily
fast. In about 4 days they will do a ultra-sound on the baby's head to make sure
there are no blood clots to the brain. Two areas in so young a child (24 weeks
gestation) that are critically fragile are the brain vessels and the lungs, so
we ask that these areas be covered in prayer.
The thousands who are praying across America encourage us and give us hope. My
faith is that the child will grow up to be a mighty man of God and do dangerous
and daring feats in pulling down demonic strongholds--a mighty man of valor! On
Sunday morning while doing my early morning devotions I was arrested by this passage
the Lord lead me to read Psalm 71: 1-7:
"In Thee,
O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in Thy righteousness,
and cause me to escape. Incline Thine ear unto me, and save me. Be Thou my strong
habitation, whereunto I may continually resort; Thou hast given commandment to
save me, for Thou art my rock and my fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the
hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For Thou
art my hope, O Lord GOD; Thou art my trust from my youth. By Thee have I been
upheld from birth. Thou art He that took me out of my mother's womb. My praise
shall be continually of Thee. I am as a wonder unto many; but Thou art my strong
refuge" --Psalm 71:1-7. (KJV/NKJV)
When my grandson
gets older, I will proclaim to him this text as his life verse for I believe the
Lord has given it to him as a reminder of the Father's love for him.
During the past week while having to remain still in her hospital bed, Noelle
was impressed by the Lord to read Psalm 23 and Psalm 20. Then right after the
birth, the Lord led her to read Isaiah 43:1-3. She is keeping a heritage journal
for their son of all that the Lord is doing, as a reminder of the mercy of the
Lord.
In His care,
"Little Bear"
