Update
for William Goforth
February 11, 2002
ANSWERS TO PRAYER!
William is 3 weeks old today! Each day is a precious gift from God- " . .
, seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things" (Acts 17:25).
William's cranial ultrasound from Wednesday showed that the bleeding had stopped
and that the swelling had been reduced. It has also indicated that the blood clots
were being absorbed- glory to God!
William has continued to remain in critical, yet stable condition. Therefore,
by Saturday Noelle was able to hold him for the first time since he was transferred
from the hospital in Colorado Springs to the hospital here in San Antonio- a definite
blessing!

UP TO THE MOMENT....
He has experienced a setback involving his lungs, though, which has required him
to be put on a different ventilator. Thankfully, he has responded favorably to
the change.
They were planning to introduce his mother's milk to him Saturday night for the
first time ever (which would have been fed to him through a tube extending from
his mouth to his stomach). However, there has been an accumulation of fluid and
an apparent obstruction in his intestinal system, which will delay the introduction
of mother's milk. Exploratory surgery may be necessary to determine the condition
of the intestines.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Today we ask you to please join us in prayer for:
a. Complete healing and maturity of William's intestinal system to enable him
to tolerate his mother's milk, resulting in ever-increasing weight gain
b. Continued healing and strengthening of his lungs, heart, and nervous system
c. Continued absorption of cranial fluid and blood clots, resulting in complete
healing to the brain tissues
It continues to be encouraging to our families to learn how many of you have expressed
a heart-felt interest in these updates, which in turn comforts us to know how
much prayer support William is receiving. Thank you once again.
