Update for William Goforth

ANSWERS TO PRAYER!

The latest x-rays still confirm that there is no obstruction or perforation in William's intestines. The evaluation is that his digestive system is still too immature and immobile to pass stools. Although this is a matter of concern, it does not appear that there is need of surgery, which is indeed answer to prayer. Our gratitude once again to our Great Physician and all those who call upon His name.

UP TO THE MOMENT . . .
William heard his first Bible story last night when his daddy, Joshua, read to him about David and Goliath. (Our baby William "the conqueror" is going to hear faith-building testimonies from the start!) Noelle read parts of Psalm 42 to encourage his little spirit, too. They were also encouraged by many to introduce him to classical music, for there are studies of how beneficial it is to brain development even in preemies. So last night Joshua rigged up his palm pilot with a tiny earphone (tiny to us, but it covered his entire ear!) and played a CD of classical music for William's first concert right there in the neonatal intensive care unit. His immediate response was very favorable, as reflected by his stats. We look forward to continued benefits to his body, soul, and spirit, from the Word of God and choice music.

Our office will be closed during our absence for the Little Bear Outdoor Adventure Camp. Unfortunately, there will be no way to send out e-mail updates about William until we return by mid-March. Therefore, we ask you to please join us in long term prayer requests for William.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
For the next 2 weeks we ask you to please join us in prayer for:

  • Continued maturing of William's intestinal system so he can begin and continue to properly pass stools.
  • The residual blood clots to dissolve.
  • Cranial fluid to remain clear and continue to decrease in amount.
  • The cranial fluid to be absorbed normally, thereby eliminating the need for a permanent shunt.
  • William to remain free of infection.
  • His central nervous system to continue to mature and strengthen.
  • William's respiratory system to continue to mature, with no long term damage to his lungs.
  • His eyes and ears to be protected from any long-term damage.

This is from the Scripture that Noelle read to William last night and that was read to her in the hospital while she was waiting for William to be born: Psalm 42: 8"Yet the LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life."
